After designing the namecard, I start to design a product by using 3-d printer.

On the class, we saw that the teacher showed us how to make a 3-D printer. I found that the final product was really beautiful, many different objects can be combined as a new object by using Boolean calculate which can not be come true by only using laser. However, i see that when printing the thin 0.4cm wall, the material wasn’t stable enough so that the wall was broken. Maybe the printer is not good enough so that when the wall is too thin, it will appear problems.

It is time for me to design my own work. First i need to draw a blue paint as well, i was confused about what I want to design. When I played the over watch, there is a hero whose weapon is darts which I want to design a similar one as my homework.

But I don know enough knowledge to design the same dart as the game, I chose to design a easy one instead.

I put my blue print into the printer, and the settings are below.

It is my first homework, it did not reach the expect I desired before. I found I had a big mistake. On the edge of the dart, the angle may be too sharp. By carefully watching the model of the teacher made, the angle of the edge is better to be larger than the 45 degree, but my designed dart’s angle is about 30 degree which cause the failure.

So I change the depth of my work, I almost double the depth of the old design. Besides, I add the support when printing. And the outcome is much better.
